Measure Your Progress

An extremely important part of your change program is being able to measure your progress.

Testing is not painful, nor is it expensive. You should do it everyday (but it is a pleasure not a demand) in the comfort of your own home, at the end of each day.
Simply ask yourself how your day has gone and write your answers down.

If you are trying to change something physical like weight, fitness, hair, skin, wellbeing It's also a good idea to take before and after photos and post them somewhere you'll see them every day. If it financial, then maybe keep copies of your bank statement in places only you can see them.

But most importantly, measure 5 - 10 different aspects of your progress.

My most successful clients measure everything in their life that's effected by their change, normally on a simple scale from 1 - 10, such as:
- relationships with others
- daily energy level
- attitude
- way you feel when they look in the mirror
- the way you fit into your clothes
- the compliments you get from people
- level of mental focus
- waist, hips, and thigh measurements
- body weight
- body-fat level
- endurance in your workouts
-spending controls
- etc, etc, etc...

Make a long list of ways you can measure your progress - but be sure to include things that are truly important to YOU. If having loads of energy is important to you, than you should be measuring your energy level every day to see if your changes to your routine are doing their job.

On the other hand, if you already have a lot of daily energy, than you might not want to measure that - you might prefer to measure other things that are more important to you at the stage of life your currently at.

Take time to design your list, then chart your progress in a daily journal every day for each of the categories on your list. Then take an average for the whole day, and write that average at the top of your page.
You will be amazed how clearly this shows your progress and it shows really clearly and quickly what is and what is not working for you.

Life is a funny old thing

Life is a funny old thing, we cannot choose where or when we were born, we do not choose our parents and we cannot choose who our children will become, mostly we do not hold the control of where and when we die, but things between there we can.

Where ever we are born and whenever, it is the right time for us and making the most of our lives is the most important thing we can do. Not all of us want the same things, for some it is a Bentley for others flying to the moon, being a movie star or just finding happiness in each and every day.
Whatever it is you want, that is fine, don´t be put off by other people and their idea of what is “good” for you. Believe you are worth a great life, act as if you deserve a wonderful life, building your life around your goals and dreams is essential to feel fulfilled and find personal happiness.

Believe in your own personal power, as we are all full of potential which is like supercharged rocket fuel but just like any engine, if you take our foot off accelerator the whole thing slows down or even stops. Keep the pressure on and move forward, just like any journey some of it will be smooth and fast, some will be on winding country roads, but as long as we are heading in the right direction we have to get there sooner or later. People can stop us temporarily only we can stop ourselves permanently.

Keep up the steps moving forward and tomorrow has to be different to today

Most Important Things

One of the most important things when you want to change something in your life is to be coachable, as doing it all by yourself is like walking blind folded along a busy motorway, it is full of hazards but none that you cannot out maneuver without support and knowledge, if you are willing to listen and learn.

The great news is that NOBODY has ever done and achieved anything all by themselves, there is no cowardice in having help. Whatever it is you want to change, somebody somewhere has already done the same thing and their information and experiences are their to help you. We live in a world of information overload, it is available on the internet, books, magazines anywhere and everywhere. There has never been a better time in history to have the life you want and live exactly how and where you want.

Being coachable opens up new horizons, new possibilities in a world where generally there is more freedom than ever, why not be part of it, learn from it and achieve with it. All of us think that we are stuck in a rut, or a certain way of living, but we can change we can make things different. As soon as we want to, learning and trusting in a coach and ourselves is a huge step of faith, but the outcomes are well worth the work and effort.
