Great Generation Called the Baby Boomers

There is a great generation called the Baby Boomers, if you were born between 1946 and 1964 you are part of this great generation and we have been leading the world since our post war birth.
All of the 50´s baby clothes, toys and building schools. The 60s toys and children´s clothes, 70s music, tapes, cars. The 80s house purchase boom, foreign holidays, electrical equipment, videos, 90s PCs, digital gadgets, new millennium health and well being as they had families and investments.

We have wanted more, had more, achieved more and created more wealth than in any other time in history. Millionaires, billionaires and the distribution of wealth is far wider than ever before. There is no gender, colour, creed or age barriers, communication and information sharing is global in seconds. We have never been able to pick and choose our lifestyles, careers and family dynamics like we do at this very moment.

We want to live more, see more, do more, travel more, earn more and spend more. In an ever increasing fast world with a throw away mentality, we need to make good choices as to what is right for us and what we really want. Because now it is all possible, but people are still looking for “the answer”, “the opportunity”, “the big break” it is there, inside of us just bursting to get out. Most of the time we just keep on looking at the things we don´t want and then that is what we live with.
Break the cycle, you are powerful, you can join the most successful generation ever, just by changing your thoughts and actions.

Life is a funny old thing

Life is a funny old thing, we cannot choose where or when we were born, we do not choose our parents and we cannot choose who our children will become, mostly we do not hold the control of where and when we die, but things between there we can.

Where ever we are born and whenever, it is the right time for us and making the most of our lives is the most important thing we can do. Not all of us want the same things, for some it is a Bentley for others flying to the moon, being a movie star or just finding happiness in each and every day.
Whatever it is you want, that is fine, don´t be put off by other people and their idea of what is “good” for you. Believe you are worth a great life, act as if you deserve a wonderful life, building your life around your goals and dreams is essential to feel fulfilled and find personal happiness.

Believe in your own personal power, as we are all full of potential which is like supercharged rocket fuel but just like any engine, if you take our foot off accelerator the whole thing slows down or even stops. Keep the pressure on and move forward, just like any journey some of it will be smooth and fast, some will be on winding country roads, but as long as we are heading in the right direction we have to get there sooner or later. People can stop us temporarily only we can stop ourselves permanently.

Keep up the steps moving forward and tomorrow has to be different to today

Most Important Things

One of the most important things when you want to change something in your life is to be coachable, as doing it all by yourself is like walking blind folded along a busy motorway, it is full of hazards but none that you cannot out maneuver without support and knowledge, if you are willing to listen and learn.

The great news is that NOBODY has ever done and achieved anything all by themselves, there is no cowardice in having help. Whatever it is you want to change, somebody somewhere has already done the same thing and their information and experiences are their to help you. We live in a world of information overload, it is available on the internet, books, magazines anywhere and everywhere. There has never been a better time in history to have the life you want and live exactly how and where you want.

Being coachable opens up new horizons, new possibilities in a world where generally there is more freedom than ever, why not be part of it, learn from it and achieve with it. All of us think that we are stuck in a rut, or a certain way of living, but we can change we can make things different. As soon as we want to, learning and trusting in a coach and ourselves is a huge step of faith, but the outcomes are well worth the work and effort.

Take a look and see

The days are passing

The days are passing, soon it will be a week, that leads to a month and years drift by, looking back over time it is easy to see how we let it slip away. Time is a commodity that we seem take for granted, we always assume that we can do things later, next week, month or when the kids grow up, when we retire, when, when, when.
Each moment, second and minute are precious, unique and unrepeatable, we all have 24hrs in each day and 7 days per week but we do not know how many we have. So why do some people do so much with their time and others seem to struggle to get things done at all?
Direction is the key, when you know where you are going it is easy to get there, even if you get lost or have a few detours, you know where the destination is. Then once you get there you set a new one, and so on. When we go through life and have no personal or professional direction we go in all directions, we take up a lot of time just going round and round in circles.
Just think of what you want to achieve, even if it is getting to work or getting children to school in the morning on time. Set your target, write it out put it up places you can see it, prepare for it and see how much easier it becomes. Talk to your children, make sure their bags, clothes, homework, packed lunch are prepared the night before, all saves minutes in the morning, relieves stress and makes getting somewhere easy and on time.
If you can do this for each area of your life, then you can make things run smoothly, your life, mood and relationships all improve. Then when the odd hic cup or road works causes a detour you are calmer, less stressed and cope well.
Try it and see what a difference it makes

Making Changes

One of the things that often stop us from making changes for ourselves are the people around us, because when we change it affects others. We put off, procrastinate and make every excuse under the sun as to why now is not a good time. Do we really do ourselves and them justice but being unhappy, miserable and unsettled.
What lessons do we teach our children about life, relationships and self worth? Sometime...no often they are not easy choices, but once the choice is made change seems that much easier. People around us see a change in us, more focused, happier, fulfilled in knowing we are achieving something for ourselves and for them.
Yes, there will be people who do not share our dreams and goals, they may even be very negative as to our ability to change.... as “you know how you are”. No single human being is made or set in concrete, there are no written laws that you must be constrained to one type of life, income, job, relationship, place etc etc these are all choices. Choices that can be changed, adapted and altered..
Yes, it is scary the unknown is always scary but you never have to do it alone as there are always people who have done it before, look for them, use their knowledge, their information, see yourself in the new position. Go into shops and try on the new clothes, jewelery, test drive the car, visit houses you want, get training for the new job you want. It takes effort and determination to get from one place to another, it is a journey and just like any journey there are things along the way, so don´t give up, believe in yourself and what you want to achieve.
Just make your choices and go get it....

Each day is a new opportunity

Each day is a new opportunity to change anything you want to, it does not have to be 1st Jan, or your birthday, or any special date; everyday is special and you can choose to make it “the day”.  Nobody has the power or the privilege to make that choice for you, unless you let them.
Why spend your days in places, with people and doing things you don’t like, or that do not make you happy, fear of change is often greater than the uncomfortable situation we are in.  We create our limits in our minds, then believe them to be the truth.  One thing I learnt very early on in the field of psychology; ‘the truth” is never just that, it is only the truth as we see it.  Just think for a moment, football, baseball, or any sport when you follow one person or a team, they are the best. If that were “true” then everyone would follow or support just that one team or person and we know that is not true.  Snakes, heights, flying some people are terrified of one or maybe all of these, but not everyone.  The actual snake, height or flight is not different, but our personal reaction is depending on our beliefs of the truth.
It is never too late or too soon to make changes for yourself and to change your truth. It does take work and dedication; a little each day makes a world of difference over time.
The only place to start however, is within yourself, being honest with yourself about your situation and make the decision to change, that is what takes the time.  Once the decision is make….. it gets easier.
Here’s to a very different 2012.

The secret of conquering

The secret of conquering the greatest space of all, the space between our ears!
No matter how toned, strong and agile our bodies are or are not (as the case may be); our minds are stronger, we as human beings have no limits, have huge amounts of potential that we never use.
I can imagine you shaking your heads saying “I have limits, she/he won’t let me, I have responsibilities, my bank, or employer will never let me” Believe it or not these are your own limits, because we accept their limitations on us.
When we get stuck in the negatives of our lives it is hard to pull ourselves free to have a new start, but it is possible with the mental strength we have. The person we have to start with is ourselves.  Just stop and think for a moment, how do you talk to yourself?  Is it full of negatives, putdowns and limits? If you spoke to a friend like that, how long would they be your friends?
We beat ourselves up every excuse we get and we get used to doing this, so when other people do it to us, we accept it as the truth – when in fact it is only their opinion!  We give it sanction, when we accept it.  When we are positive in our own thoughts about ourselves, when we are our own best friend, then what others say does not have the same impact.
Take the next 24hrs and think about what you are thinking and saying to yourself.  Every negative thought consciously change it to a positive one, it takes practice, so keep at it.  Just see how great you feel after 24hrs positivity. The limits and boundaries you have do not seem as large or as difficult to challenge.
Day by day steps to your own success in 2012.
